Can I buy any large patches of vinyl online anywhere?

I live in the Northeast and had a pretty substantial rip in my liner, which has me worried going into winter as my pool is basically empty.

the plan for now is to patch this rip out and then do a liner replacement next spring. But i want to keep as much water as possible in the pool through the winter.

Is there anywhere online I can buy a large patch of actual pool vinyl? All the patches I've read on amazon are pretty weak from what I've read, and I need something that is going to hold. I've found in the past overcompensating on the patch in this scenario is always good to keep the liner from further ripping. I don't care how ugly it is, just needs to hold water through the winter!

I do have actual access to the rip.. it isn't under water, had me thinking if there are better ways to patch it as well besides vinyl cement, or in conjunction with vinyl cemenet.

I used gorilla tape linked below at a client's pool this past May. Yes the water in the picture is bad but my deal was if I can't fix it satisfactory then I walk away or it's a new liner which they couldn't afford. With proper prep it is still solidly holding as I type. I've tested it under water on a pool needing a patch and you can't pull it off if you tried.

Also, how bad should I feel about having to replace a liner after 8 years?

good to know. Its funyn was just reading about how strong gorilla tape is.

This is just to patch some huge rips through the winter to retain some water before putting in a new liner next spring.

I was actually thinking about putting a large overkill patch on the two probelm spots with Vinyl Cement, and then also hitting the seams of the new patch with gorilla tape for some extra security

ah good idea. going to give them a call right now. Seems like a lot of these companies don't want to deal with individual consumers.

Thinking like 5x5 or 10x10. Ive learned over the years with these big tears to overcompensate on the patch for some strength.

I'm not understanding. A tear is a cut for a given length. If you're not missing material and only need to hold it together just go for the gorilla tape. There's plenty per side beyond the cut. 1 inch is plenty so a 4 inch wide tape is more then enough. Also, the adhesive is on the tape, the vinyl you're seeking needs glue......

its a pretty sizeable tear (like might legit be over a foot long), in my mind it'd be better to build some support around it to allow it to prevent further tearing (which is why I want some support vertically and horizontally by a large patch).

I guess what your saying though if gorilla type is actually that strong that I could feel good about holding the tear together with gorilla tape. Which seems crazy to me but what do I know haha.

Could also create a solution that puts a large patch with vinyl cement and then on that large patches seems I tape down with gorilla tape. That would kinda give me the best of both worlds structurally... I think

(yes i'm likely paranoid haha, I just don't want to have to deal with this midwinter and really want to be sure this solution will hold until new liner time in the spring)
