Can I add a booster pump to the Energy Filter line that was used to power my Jandy Ray Vac?

After purchasing a Polaris P39 from Leslie's. I reluctantly realized I need a booster pump, no two ways around it. I have a dedicated line that my old Jandy Ray vac used. Can I tap into this line and add the booster pump to this line which is BEFORE the filter?

I'll let someone else respond as to whether you can do that or not. A picture showing that line might help.

I'm wondering if you can return the Polaris P39 pressure side cleaner and get a robot? The price for a high quality robot would be about the same as the Polaris + booster pump - maybe less. The robot will do a better job cleaning the pool and will not require the pool pump and booster pump to be running - saving electricity and wear & tear on the pumps. Have a look at some of the robot threads in the Pool Cleaners Forum for inspiration - Maytronics seems pretty popular.
