Looking at doing a heater bypass using a 3-way Jandy valve on my Aquacal T-135 heat pump. The inlet is a foot or so higher than the outlet, so my thought would be to run the bypass line directly between the two, but the shortest route would be a roughly 45 degree angle on that line. Can the Jandy valve be installed that way? Basically it would run horizontal in the primary direction but rotated so the handle is on a 45 degree angle due to the bypass line going out at that angle.
The other option is keep it level and come straight out the side, but then I'd need a 90 down to the return line. Would rather avoid the extra 90 for flow and additional failure point reasons, but realized I don't think I've noticed a diverter valve installed on an angle like that before.
Thoughts?
