Pentair playing the screw em at any cost, and protect or “dealers“ game. New Intelliflo 3 is over 2k online, and no warranty if not paying full retail plus install from a local “professional”. I was quoted 3500 the new pentair installed. Are they crazy? I can almost get an entire central air ac system for that.

What is the consensus on the calimar? i can buy 5 of them for the price of the pentair.

So far reports about the CaliMar pump seems good as long as you don’t have automation . You can read threads at…

There is a supply chain issue that could be argued is hurting Pentair, they are losing sales due to these shortages.

Anyway, they recently introduced the Whisperflo VST to mitigate that and uses the same wet end as the Intelliflo.

I'm with you on the shorter warranty for self installs, but I suspect they had many claims due to poor installations.

Find another local “professional” for installation as the definition by Pentair is fairly broad for warranty purposes.

Qualified Installer - Defined as a licensed professional who charges a fee for his services, and possesses a business license, contractor's license and/or resale permit. Common examples of a "qualified installer" include: Swimming Pool, Home Repair or Landscape Professional; Plumber or Electrician; General Contractor; Heating and Air Conditioning Specialist.
