Hi
New water in pool after reno. all levels are pretty good but,

My calcium hardness level is at 200

I added calstop ( in Australia) when filling the pool on recommendation from the pool resurfacer, and Im not sure now if this will affect putting calcium chloride in.

I was looking at raising the CH level to around 300.

Thanks

They don’t give much info on it, nothing in the MSDS to say what it is. A sequestrant maybe.

The instructions in the brochure say to test the water at week 5 post new render and adjust as needed. Keep in mind that BNE tap water has ~90ppm CH so I wouldn’t go any higher then 300ppm.

Thanks. Apparently Calstop is supposed to stop any calcium build up on initial fill. Pool has been filled about 6 weeks now
I was just wondering if it will reduce the effectiveness of calcium chloride. Will add it and see I guess. Thanks

I suspect that most of it has broken down by now. Sequestrants do break down with time but it’s hard tell for sure without knowing what it is. By effectiveness of calcium chloride I assume you mean effect on CSI. Does a product like this affect the relative CSI value and cause the water to be more aggressive then the CSI would suggest? I don’t think so and the relative or actual aggressiveness of the water as suggested by the CSI is a long term thing. But to be sure @JoyfulNoise would know more then me.

For what it’s worth this is the Calstop sds and Brochure.
