How important is calcium hardness for a liner pool? Mine is currently 70 - do I need to replace it?

CH is not important in a l8ner pool if you do not have a gas heater.

So can it remain at 70? I have a company close my pool and they said that if I leave it at 70 then the water will leach what it needs from the liner and make it brittle...

It is fine unless your liner manufacturer has specific recommendations. I would ignore pool companies generic comments.
