Wanted to share a TFP Victory Story, involving my addition of Calcium Chloride.
My 26k gal in-ground concrete pool (chlorine, not salt) was running Calcium Hardness of 200ppm.
I bought 50 LB CC from Amazon. I added to 3 gals of pool water in a 5 gal bucket, 12 LB at a time, then stirred for 1 min each, with a wooden dowel, which resulted in full (visual) dissolution. I then dumped the mixed water around the edge of the pool 4 times, with the CC already totally dissolved. Ran the pump at high speed for 2 hours.
2 hours later, the pool read 400ppm and was totally swimmable. No brushing or other mixing required.
Many thanks to all the TFP posts over the past 10 years that provided guidance for this successful endeavor.
