I can't find the forum search function so my apologies! It has to be here somewhere but I'll be darned if I can find it...I know this question has to be in here 50 times but.... Calcium Carbonate instead of Calcium Chloride for increasing calcium levels...yes or no? I know it isn't the same thing but is it ok? My normal source for bulk stopped carrying Calcium Chloride for some reason but does have Calcium Carbonate.

Still don't know the answer to my question though....
Calcium hardness can be raised with calcium chloride or calcium chloride dihydrate.

Calcium carbonate is scale. I have never heard of that being used, but then my water has a lot of calcium in it to start.

Don't use calcium carbonate as it will be difficult to dissolve and it will raise the TA just as much as the calcium hardness and the pH effect would be the same as adding sodium carbonate.
