But really?

One of the most surprising things I learned here at TFP is how little a lot of pool industry "experts" (like builders and pool stores and pool guys) actually know about pool chemistry.
When I recently transitioned to a SWG, the guy who installed it told me to dump in 10 bags of salt immediately because “that is what it typically takes for the SWG to work”
Had I blindly dumped in that amount I’d be floating like I was at the Great Salt Lake. 😏 I only needed about 3/4 of a bag of salt.
 
That being said people are just uneducated on what a salt water pool is

And builders.

We’ve had a “salt pool” for 20 years; no damage….nada! According to many builders, ours should have completely disintegrated by now.
 
Plot twist : Saturn's pool was a 12x20 that eroded to a 18x36. #happylittleaccidents. I wouldn't be mad either.
