Bubbles from all returns & in all baskets

We've had tiny bubbles coming from all returns (including spa jets when off) for a few weeks now. There are tons of bubbles in the pump basket and the basket just before the SWG as well. The pool guy that came out to reinstall the wall grates said it was either a leak somewhere or the pump isn't prime, but offered no solution for either. I don't know what "prime" looks like - it appears to be running the same as usual although with all the bubbles it is definitely louder. This was NOT an issue for the first week or 2 after opening, but started sometime after we vacuumed which we did a ton of since we don't cover our pool in the off-season (I only mention because in reading other similar problems that was something that came up a few times). Thoughts on how to fix? They don't go away until the pump is off again.

Have you tried just lubricating the o ring in the pump lid?
