I just want to cry. My parents gifted us an above ground 12 foot diameter round 30 inch high pool, it holds between 2100 and 2200 gallons. I filled it from the well. I knew we had problems with iron (or iron bacteria?) in our well water but this is ridiculous. The water came out of the hose clear but shortly after, turned into orange-brown murk. The little filter cartridge it came with is completely coated and slimy, I washed it but I'm buying more. I really don't want to drain and refill it, is there any way I can fix this either mechanically or chemically? I haven't even started testing yet, it's been three days since it was filled. I've been reading so much about different methods, products and possible solutions.. I feel like a crazy person trying to figure it out.
