I have a Pentair FNS DE filter with cracked housing. I have it off and looking for replacement. I have read posts that suggest “over-sizing” the filter. We have a 14k gallon pool. I believe we have the FNS 48. If we stick to the same filter type, is it reasonable to upgrade to the 60?

Or, if you are replacing the entire filter, go with a large cartridge filter and never have to deal with DE again.
No badkwash/multiport valve to maintain either.
