Hi,
I have been a member here for quite a while and must say this is the most informative group of people ever. Never had a need to ask for help until now. I have had my pool for 8 years and this year it seems all the hoses are giving out. I have replaced almost all of them and now the adapter that my backwash hose goes on, busted and half of it broke off. I have another fitting but am afraid to tackle this without asking you guys what the best way to remove the old one is and what is the sealant I need to use for the new one. Posting pics so you know what I'm talking about. Looks like some kind of silicone coming out of the old adapter?

Thank you and yes you can if I can figure out how to reduce them. So far everything I try to upload is too big for the server. I'll figure it out but may take me a bit. Okay here ya go, the last one is the adapter I bought to replace it with.

+1. Or use a big set of channel lock pliers to grab the nut on the valve side of the break.
