I've had the same Hayward 1.5 powermatrix pump for about 6 years now, on my 24 x 52 round doughboy pool. It stopped running about 3 weeks ago, so i purchased a new but different brand pump on Amazon, making sure it had the same specs, etc., as my Hayward pump.
Piece of cake. So I thought. well, I've had an algae problem now for about 3 weeks, ever since I hooked up this new pump. I got a different brand because it could ship to me quickly & was less expensive. I was confident once I hooked it up, got chemicals going, the algae would be gone with 24 or so. Not SO!! I've had my pool 10 years and have never had this long a problem trying to get rid of green water. I'm beside myself. I'm at wits end, and considering just purchasing a Hayward like I had hoping that would solve this awful dilemma. I want to swim and have my grandkids enjoy before summer is over!
I've checked the sand filter, etc, & the flow into the pool seems fine. anyone else have this?? or ideas? I'm perplexed!! Also, does anyone work on pools in wichita, KS area??
