Remodeling pool. Replacing original Amerlites with Jandy WaterColor LEDs. Existing niches are Pentair Stainless Steel, with brass conduit running from niches to metal J Boxes.

Should I consider this setup good (sufficiently bonded) if I simply replace the lights and wire them in as the originals were? I presume it was safely bonded up to this point.

There is no extra wire connected to lug inside either niche. The brass conduit connecting niche to metal j box is sufficient bonding? I assume the niches outer lug was bonded to rebar on install. I have no way to tell for sure.

Also wondering about whether to install a rubber stopper over the new light's insulated wire to plug the back of the niche. I know the niche is designed to flood, and have heard that the conduit may also flood up to the pool water line. What is the advantage of the rubber stopper? Is it to avoid long term corrosion in the brass pipe from pool water? If so, it seems worth it and is easy to feed over the wire on installation.

Thanks!

Bonding to a niche could take place on the backside of the niche. But, to be sure you could run a #8 wire inside the conduit when you pull the new cord and connect it to the bonding lug inside the niche and to the J-Box bonding lug.

Here is the owners manual for the Pentair large niche that the Amerilite would be installed in
