Hi,
I'm currently having a bond beam restoration done on my pool. Previous bond beam was a modified beam, somewhere between a rolled beam and a beach entry. Pool deck has been removed and will be replaced. Pebbletech and tile will be replaced. The pool is approx. 25 years old. There are currently 2 skimmers. Should I have the skimmers replaced now, since the pool is completely torn apart? Thank you!

HI, Depends on the type and condition of your skimmers. Show us what you got and how the existing skimmers are installed.

I agree it depends but plastic will go bad and 25 years is a long stretch.. If it is already torn apart I would spend the extra and do it all... It would cost WAY more if they fail in 5 or 10 years..

Hi,
I'm sorry for my delayed response. Here are some photos. I did some digging and found that the existing skimmers are completely encased in concrete. I've had two companies look at it and they don't want the job.
Thank you ajw22 and cowboycasey for responding!

How many skimmers do you have? 1 or 2?

That skimmer looks chopped up enough that you should replace it. It is a bunch of manual labor but not brain surgery.

Here is a thread showing what is involved to replace the skimmer...

2 skimmers. I plugged them and filled with water. Checking for leaks. Thank you ajw22.
