Hey! I found someone with a used -good condition Blue World Pools pool for sale. After some research- I would want to ditch the current pump and buy a saltwater system instead. My question is- is this a pool that I can do that with since Im guessing the ionizer would cause the same damage to metal that saltwater would and most ion systems use salt anyways?

Ionizers are not recommended as they add metals to the pool that eventually stain the pool and can turn blonde hair green. And, the need for the same level of chlorine in the pool remains to keep the pool water clean and sanitary.
Saltwater at the level needed for the use of SaltWater Chlorine Generator does not damage pool related equipment.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.
