I have been developing a blue slime/ flake in my filter pleats. Chemicals are good and typically keep chlorine a little high. When I changed the filter and let it dry it turned to a powder. The pool shop is perplexed as well, so turning to the real pros! Let me know if you have any thoughts. I am in Florida and leave a vacuum running most days this time of year, but this happened from main drain as well.

Welcome to TFP.

What chemicals are you using in your pool?

That can be the beginning of copper staining.

Check all your chemicals for signs of copper ingredients, such as any chemicals labeled "Blue". or from Clorox.

Welcome to TFP! Maybe it's residue from the ends of that cartridge. You don't use any copper-based products do you like an algaecide or have a mineral system in use? As Allen stated, check any products you bought recently.

Also be sure to update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info.
