Blue residue from non-stabilized chlorine tablets?

I travel a lot for work, so to give my wife a break from having to slop chlorine into the pool every day, I picked up some Poolife NST (non-stabilized tablets) to float in the pool. They work great, keep the chlorine at an appropriate level, and since my CH is a bit low anyway, I'm not sweating the calcium being added to the pool for the time being. But after floating them for several days, I noticed a blue residue scattered throughout the pool floor. The pool cleaner picks it up without a problem, but I'm wondering if this is common with these tablets, or is there maybe some weird interaction going on with something in the water I'm not aware of.

Anyone else use these tablets and have this experience?
