Blow out WASTE line?

Hello,
I have an inground that I've closed - lines blown out, antifreeze added, skimmer all set, etc.
BUT..
do I need to do anything with the waste line? It's PVC and runs underground to the back of the yard where the end of the PVC comes out the ground and basically lies open.
I'm guessing it's pitched to allow water to flow out, but if it isn't, do I need to do anything with this or because the end is open, any freezing will have a place to expand.

Thank you.

Your waste line should only have water in it when you are rinsing or backwashing the filter, or vacuuming to waste. Since it doesn't normally stay full of water there shouldn't be enough water in the pipe to break it if it freezes. If somehow you do have standing water in the pipe the open end will allow any ice to expand.
