My son recently closed on a house with an inground pool. I had an inground for 10 years. Primed the pump, but it wouldn't circulate. Disconnected the inline from the deep end, it was done dry. The pump isn't pulling water from the pool. Used an auger, and hit something solid. It's not leaves or debris, but feels like a block of wood in the line that won't budge. Bloodied up both hands with the auger recoil, jabbed at it with a metal pipe, nothing. Whatever it is, it won't budge, rendering the pool at the house he just purchased completely useless. There was a big tree he had removed 5 feet from where the pump and filter are. I'm starting to think a root somehow grew into the line, completely blocking it. Nothing else makes sense.
Of course, said line also runs under concrete, which would mean completely tearing up the concrete to get to the line.
Anybody ever hear of something like this? Any suggestions? I don't want this to turn in a project that costs thousands of dollars just to fix/replace/open up the line.
Looking for any advice, thanks.
