Pool shock is getting harder and harder to find. Can regular household bleach be used? If so, can you tell me the specifics on it??

There are very few options for grocery-store bleach that doesn't contain fragrances, stain fighters, polymers, no-splash, etc.
But if you can find it; it's totally fine to use.

Other sources for 10-12.5% chlorine are farm/ranch stores, janitorial supply stores, pool stores, etc.
