Bleach type

Well, for the last six months or so I’ve been using this bleach. Is this the right kind? It clorox regular, but also has “cloromax technology” on it, whatever that is. Label also states 5.7% chlorine.

Do a search on "Cloromax Technology" and you will find quite a few threads.

Bottom line ... Clorox bleach is no longer acceptable for pool use. It has polymers in it that you don't want in your pool water.

Clorox no longer markets 'plain' bleach. They have additives called Cloromax, which you do not want in your pool. Most other plain bleaches are now 6%. So look for Liquid Chlorine at Walmart (Pool Essentials), Home Depot, etc. Check the dates. There is a number 18XXX on the bottle. The XXX represents the number of days in 2018 the bottle was filled. Look for stuff less than a couple months old.
