Black plastic sheet under liner and support posts

Changing out my liner because my pool guy didn’t show up for the 3rd time since February. I really need to re-level. There is a thick black plastic sheet unde my liner. It also goes under my
Support posts. So I would have to cut it out to remove it to re-level. Looks to be fill sand under the plastic. Not mason sand, like what you use for a house foundation. Not sure what to do? Please help. Pool is all apart.

If your support posts need to be re-leveled, I don't think you have any choice but to remove those anyways which would give you access to the support pavers under the posts correct? If so, then you should be able to remove the black liner. But if the support posts are fine and all you want to do is re-level the inside of the pool, floor surface where everyone steps, then I suppose you could cut it out and lay it back down once you are done leveing.

Let's see what others think. Grab a cold one a take a break for a few while you wait for replies.

By the way, where in LA are you? Probably a big water table difference between NO and Shreveport. Might be a factor.

Sorry for the delayed response. Cut the black sheeting leveled the fill sand. Put sheeting back. Will finish filling pool today. Hope to start balancing water this evening.
