Big TA Jump

What about the static charge in shipping that often gives folks a false high ?

The wipe the tip thing is a real concern the first dozen or so tests.

I always wipe the tip with a wet napkin but I am taking another full set of tests tomorrow so we'll see.

I am using brand-new reagents.
That is a likely source. When the R-0009 comes to you very fresh, it actually "jumps" off the dropper tip rather than fall. It's an electrical charge betweeb the fluid and the bottle.

The fix is pretty simple.......wipe the dropper tip with a damp cloth in between just about every drop. Hold the bottle vertically and gently allow the drop to fall from the tip rather than jump.

This phenomenon goes away in a couple of weeks and will not return.

Meanwhile I added another gallon of acid and am running the waterfalls full tilt to decrease TA. My TA is always running on the high side anyway.
