Best way to lower FC quickly

Hey all

I have been using BBB method on my spa for a year with no problem. It is so easy and cost effective. I love it.

We just went on vacation and I had my neighbor monitor the free chlorine levels and add the appropriate amount of bleach when it got below 3ppm. Apparently he might have added A bit too much. Lol. I used the Taylor test kit that I have and I know I am at least at 20 ppm. Isn't that the most it will measure? Anyways, what is the easiest and quickest way for me to use up some of that chlorine without getting in it because that is probably unsafe correct?

How much CYA is in the water? Leave it uncovered for a good sunny day and the FC will drop.

Whether it is unsafe or not depends on your CYA level. But if you're concerned, you can drain it. Only 395 gallons, right?

And it is only 395 gallons so I can drain. But I guess really we r in no rush so I assume over time the FC will just lower. I can expedite with the cover open and direct sunlight correct?

It would, but in most cases - why bother. Excess FC will dissipate quickly in an uncovered pool in the sun.
