I skipped on a couple upgrades on my inground vinyl and have justified the cost of a robotic cleaner. I'm struggling to find a good review/comparison online of the different robotic cleaners, and am going a bit cross-eyed trying to figure it out. Curious to know a) What is the best robotic cleaner regardless of cost and b) What is the best for the money. I know there's probably no correct answer, but would like to hear some opinions. My pool is a 28x43 L-shape with a 10x18 tanning ledge (about 15" deep) in case that changes the recommendation at all.

Best features for the money are the smart pool cleaners. How long it lasts is anyone's guess though. I'm pretty amazed mine is still working.
We purchased the polaris P945, and are very happy with it.
It isn't a "smart bot", but is 4 wheel drive and top mounted filter basket. I like how it empties water when I pull it out.
Cord is nice and long. I don't need to control it with an app - that is 300 bucks I would rather have in my pocket, since the point of the bot is not to drive it, but to drop it in pool and forget about it.

Anyone have experience with Pentair 920 or Dolphin M500. I'm evaluating both now. Especially iinterested in "wall cleaning".
