I measure my chlorine level around 7 PM in the evening after they got sun has lowered. I have been measuring it to read between 5 and 7. My pool chemicals supplier argued that is to high and I should try for a reading between 3-4. Looking for inputs/ feedback as to who is more correct.
Ps: my PH usually reads between 7.4 to 7.8 at which time I add muriatic acid to keep it in this range. Also measured a CYA reading of between 55 and 60 today using Taylor kit black for interpretation method. All other readings are in normal range.

When your TA is between our target range of 60-80, leave your pH alone around 7.8. Should be fairly stable. Let it rise to 8.0, then lower to 7.8.

If your TA is above 90, then lower to 7.6 when it gets to 8.0. When TA gets down to 60-80, see last sentence.

My reading the link you provided clearly shows the correct FC based on CYA level and shows that mine should be in the 4-9 range so I am good there.

As for TA and Ph readings my current readings show a TA of 90 and a PH color reading of 7.6. Due to water loss due to very high temperatures the past week I added water and the muriatic acid to get it to this readunf. I will monitor with my test kit and add more acid when PH reading gets to 8,0
