Hi all, tonight I am beginning the bucket test. Last Weekend, I was out on the deck and heard the skimmer "gulping", I knew the pool was low-ish but didn't realize it was that low. Topped off the pool, to come to this past weekend and the pool is at that almost too low point again. So tonight I start the bucket test. My theory is evaporation mainly because nothing has changed (or frozen in central Florida) and we were good all winter, no loss. Now that it is getting warmer out, it seems like the water is dropping fast...faster than it did last Summer.
Attached some images with my setup, a couple things I was trying to figure out was how to get the bucket at a good level with the water, and how to keep it from floating away. I ended up throwing some bricks and a hunk of concrete in to weigh it down. Hope the little extra dirt doesn't skew the results! Any other pointers I may have forgotten? I'm keeping the pump on its daily schedule because I like clean water and don't think there is a leak in the pipes.
