Before the rain? Potential Thunderstorm?

Hi Guys,

Is there any prep to do prior to expected rain/potential thunderstorms (<10 mm of rain).
The weather is expected be humid as well. My details are as follows right now (before the rain): pH = 7.8; CYA = 40; FC = 6; TA = 80
Should I step up the Chlorine tonight to shock levels (10-12) tonight before the rain tomorrow? Or do people typically wait till the day following the rain storm?

In general rain has little effect unless it is torrential and extended such that it overflows a large percentage of your pool water.

It might raise your pH a touch due to aeration.

Check your FC and pH on your normal schedule.

I am sitting in Pembroke Ontario right now and they are calling for a small amount of rain this evening.

Extensive rain throughout a given month would pose more of a concern. Last June I lost 10-12 ppms of CYA due to extensive rain. We had over 10 inches for the month!
