Hello,
We have a 15 x 48 intex pool and have been using pucks since we opened. We have some hth test strips that test for CYA and it is off the chart. We have been dealing with what I assume is algae for a few weeks. Husband has added shock and algicide but it keeps coming back. Water is a bit cloudy and I will attach pictures of what is on the floor. It does poof when brushed and is mostly in dead spots. I ordered the TF-100 kit yesterday and just picked up some 10% liquid chlorine to add in the evening while I wait for the kit. My question is, we have large steps with two 50 lb sand tubs to weigh them down (picture attached). My husband is out of town and I don’t know that I can detach and move them by myself to scrub every area underneath. He will be back next Sunday but will it ruin the SLAM to not scrub all of that until then? I do plan to drain off some water and replace depending on the CYA test once my kit arrives. I was thinking of trying to use the pressure nozzle on the garden hose to get underneath as best as I can. Not sure if that will help or if I should wait to start the SLAM until he gets back home and can move the steps.
I found this forum yesterday and have already learned so much! Thank you!
