Can this part of filter basket housing be separated removed?
If so, am I correct that there’s a gasket in there?

The box that houses the filter basket sprung a leak a couple nights ago along this line.

We keep our pool open year around and the lows that night were going to be in the low 20’s. So we did what we could to try and slow the leak with some putty and duct tape to keep the pump running.

Am I looking for a pump filter basket housing seal? (What’s the proper name?)

Is this going to be something I can tackle myself with a bit of common sense or is there something I might want to know about and hire a plumber to do?

I must admit I’m not going to be disappointed if this isn’t meant to come apart since it’s all older than dirt! But it has served us well and if it ain’t broke I can’t justify the cost of replacing the entire thing. (Plus, parts made years ago are often better.)

Thanks for your time!
