Hi,
Yes, this is a newbie question.... If I have a PVC pipe that is fixed (assume it is in the ground) and I want to cut off 4 inch to inspect the pipe on the inside (looking for location of a blockage), how do I put it back together again? What do I need in addition to the 4 inch piece I will put back? The key is that the pipe will not move so any adapter will have to be be put on by sliding. What are these adapters called? Thank you!

Install a PVC Union. I do not recommend 4 PVC 90s in a loop.
