Baquacil Problems

I am so confused. I have a Baquacil system pool.
They tested my water today at the pool store and these are my levels. (They sold me a gallon of muriatic acid)

pH - 8.1
Hardness - 6ppm
Alkalinity - 238ppm
Copper - 0.1
Iron - 0.2
Phosphate - 69ppb

I have noticed that it is burning my eyes and making me itchy when I get in. When I get out, the itchiness stops and there is no rash, but I don't like it.

He said mix 1/4 gallon and 1 1/4 gallons of water and pour it around the walls of my pool to bring my pH and TA down.

I used to be a brick mason and we used this Crud to clean cement and lime off of the brick. :\

Is this the right course of action to take with a Baquacil pool?

I'd like to add that my water is crystal clear, it's just itchy when in it and makes my eyes burn when it gets in my eyes.
