Balancing and Testing

Question? If we abide by the TFP theories and practices ( which I use personally and very thankful for) How can a pool cleaning company only balance, test once a week, and only add chlorine once a week. I live in texas and even with cya at 60 I have to add chlorine to meet the min level. Just seems like the pool store, maintenance, and sales just want us to buy every product on the market and pay $175 a month....Sorry for the ramble but question is..How do they only co.e once a week and justify it?

Sooner or later all the CYA added by their products gets too high for the chlorine that is added by the same methods to keep up and keep the FC/CYA relationship in balance. Your on your own for the "justify" part!

Basically they chlorinate with pucks that add CYA. When the CYA hits a certain level they say your water is too old and you have to drain and refill.

(Not working off first hand knowledge, but seen several youtube channels that use the old way of chem maintenance and they all say this.)
