Hey everyone, I have a question. My thermistor is bad, I have a new one on the way but it won’t be here until Monday. I noticed the pool beginning to turn green. Would it be appropriate to shock it while I’m waiting for the new part before it gets any worse?

Add enough to get to high target level for your CYA (non-SWCG as you are using liquid chlorine). I would test after a few hours and add more if necessary.

If you are seeing actual algae, you may need to follow the SLAM Process

Yes I am seeing actual algae, would you recommend a specific brand?

Brand of liquid chlorine? They are all sodium hypochlorite. You want the cheapest per unit volume of chlorine.
Walmart, pool stores, Ace Hardware, Farm Stores, etc all carry liquid chlorine.
