I'm replumbing my SWCG setup to fix an issue I created a few years back. This time I'm triple checking things.

Rather than explaining it all here, this is the background and question. Creating new post as the other is aging a bit. It skips right to the relevant portion.

I dont have one and you should be good without one. A puck feeder can have acidic water in it that you would not want to backflow into the heater when not in use, but you will not have that issue with a SWCG.

Here's the current plan. Water from pump (top cutoff pipe) to heater bypass down to SWCG (grey) to spa/pool valve, to Polaris valve in new location (blue), then pool/waterfall manual valve.

What do the instructions for the SWG require? If it is a new install and it requires a check valve, install one to eliminate any warranty issues that could arise. If it doesn't require one, it usually isn't needed. There's always an exception, but your system doesn't look like one.

Good question. It’s a Pentair IC-40. I just reviewed the install diagram and it didn’t show a backflow preventer. Thanks

Replumb done. Details and new photo over in the original post concerning why my water level was dropping when freeze protection mode kicked in.

Oh, and I completed the repair under the shade of an appropriate color canopy, in honor of @JJ_Tex Although we have opposite opinions on that topic, we're both looking forward to November 30th, when our football teams return to a great tradition on playing each other.

Thanks again, y'all!

Lol. Glad you made the repair.
And with all of the wrongs that have happened in college football recently, it will be good to see them get something right on 11/30. (Although at $800+++ per ticket, I will glady watch from home).

My daughter is just starting her 3d year in Aggieland, but worked her butt off to get senior hours academically, JUST so she could pull tickets for that game on Monday (as a senior) rather than Tuesday (as a junior). $400 for all-sport pass for students. You know they'll be selling those off. I can't even guess at hotel prices. Probably like they were when George Strait played at Kyle Field.

Here's the Aggie Band drill from 1989. This is my favorite drill we ever marched. I was a fish and if you look closely you can see me playing cymbals on the far side.

Sorry, I just threw up my breakfast a bit :)

Rivalries aside, as a parent of a band kid I can vouch for how much work is put into that. I'm also hobbling around from building marching props all day yesterday in the 102 degree heat. Only 2 more work sessions until we are done

A&M is on my daughter's visit list for this spring. I'm sure I will have to bite my tongue a few times on the tour, but I am interested in seeing the bonfire memorial since that happened my senior year at UT ('99), and had some friends in the corps and I was part of the vigil they did at the UT tower then.

My daughter visited multiple schools, including a particular one in Austin. I didn't wear maroon that day, which is rare. She needed to find the place that was right for her. We posed in front of the tower.

If your daughter is considering the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, here's a short video about them. YouTube has plenty more.
