We are in the midst of installing the SaltWater 5000 pool semi in ground.

Its in the ground 3' and now are are stuck at what to use for backfill?

We have about 2 1/2' around the whole pool that was overdug.

What is the best way to fill the gap? Thank you for any information.

Using mostly crushed stone is the safest option. It's more expensive as you have to haul in stone-based fill, but it allows for drainage around the pool. It will also lead to longevity of the grading or any surfacing you do around the pool area. You can put topsoil over the at grade level or finish with hardscape.

JV Train is right. Your local quarry that makes concrete will have the stuff you need. I would suggest clean gravel, partially crushed, 1-1/4" minus. Possibly up to 1-5/8" minus. Concrete quarries in Oregon use both of these aggregate mixes for certain types of concrete. Sometimes they will call it drain rock, or gravel backfill for drains. Take your pool diameter in feet, multiply by ( 2 X 3.14 X 0.5) multiply that by (3 feet X 2.5) feet, divide that quantity by 25 and you will have a pretty good estimate the yards of aggregate you need to order from the quarry.
