Back from Vacation - numbers off

We were gone a week for vacation and used chlorine tablets. Now my readings are 5 FC, 40 TA, and 7.0 pH. I haven't been home in daylight to check the CYA yet.

Before we left TA was 80 and pH was 7.3.

Based on pool math, we need to add 2lbs 15 oz of Borax for pH and 7lbs 1 oz of baking soda for TA. Does it matter which I do first? And how much time do I need to wait in between each?

I suggest adding enough baking soda to raise your TA to 70 ppm. With some aeration your pH will rise.
