Awning or these shades

I'm currently working with MaryGrove for their widest retractable awning but they are struggling with options to attach it to my arch opening (which is also wider but seems that was a compromise).

Not interested in their substructure installation method (uses metal posts) so was considering this type of system instead. I know this doesn't have features to retract for wind like the awning so wondering if any here has had success or came up with some creative way to retract for wind.

I was looking between the pergola and above the arch, below the enclosure screen to put some toggle bolts to go behind the plywood of the stucco.

It's interesting no one makes a motorized setup. Maybe something worth designing using some type of clothes line automated setup.

I would prefer though not to depend on the internet for wind info but I guess even with a retractable awning, if there is power loss to the property when bad weather moves in, it wouldn't retract and if your out, well....
