Autopilot randomly reducing purifier output to 0%

I have an Autopilot DIG-220 system and the past couple weeks I've noticed the purifier output level reduced to 0%. I manually increase it back to 70 or 80% and the purifier comes on with no problem, but then when I look the next day or several hours later and its back to 0% and I have to manually increase it again. Chlorine level is now around 2.0 and the water looks fine. The unit is not showing any error messages. Power level is at 20 volts and 4.9 amps even when its at 0% output. Current water temp. is 92 degrees.

The cell is about a year old and I cleaned it 2 weeks ago. The control panel is about 8-9 years old so maybe it's just time for a replacement.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I suggest looking at this old thread, Auto pilot purifying output?.

It could be as easy as pressing select after setting the % output.

If you are pressing select after adjusting the output then it sounds like there is something wrong with the system and you might need to contact AutoPilot service for more information.

If you get an answer please post the solution in this thread as your unit is not the only one to do this.

thanks for the link to the old thread - it contains a lot of good information

When I got home this afternoon the output was back to 0% so I manually set it to 67% and pressed the select button. Although with the DIG 220, I don't think its necessary to press select to set the purifying level and the instruction manual doesn;'t say to do it.

I saw that poolsean said in the old thread that the output should never be at 0%, so I think there is some other problem going on. If its back to 0% tomorrow, I'll call Aquacal for guidance, and report back the outcome.
