Good afternoon
1 1/2 year old pool . In the last week I noticed My pool builder missed a small detail on my pool when building it and we agreed for him to give me as Swg to make up for a mistake. All my equipment is jandy including automation. Unfortunately he his supplying me a jandy Swg of my choice. Do I want a jandy Swg ? No but that’s all he will deal with . It’s free so I guess I can’t complain. I chose the aquapure 1400 with the aquprem to hook to my current automation. My question is there a setting on the automation to automatically lower the swg output when I turn it on spa mode ?

The Aquapures have their issues, but they're pretty good all things considered. Most importantly though, Jandy SWCGs are the only ones that will properly integrate with the Aqualink automation and your spa.

Thank you sir . I just read on here a lot that jandy Swg are not as superior compared to to Hayward and Pentair swg

The only Jandy SWG that is "less than reliable" is the TruClear line. You have their top of the line. There are some issues with premature cell failure. It isn't terribly common though. If you have it professionally installed it comes with a 5 year warranty on the cell though so make sure it gets registered.

Yes sir I will have it registered. Thanks again for your responce

They are coming tomorrow to install it. Is it OK that I add my salt and conditioner to my pool now?

BEFORE adding any salt test it with a reliable test kit like the K-1766 Taylor kit. It is very likely your pool already has some salt content in it. Salt generators have a specific range they run in. I have the same one as you and target 3000. But yep go ahead and get your salt up to 3000.

Not sure what "conditioner" you mean? Cyanuric acid? The only thing the SWG requires is salt. I use the blue-bag water softener salt sold in 40lb bags at big box stores (or most hardware stores).

Measure your salt content first - before adding any.

It's ok to add the salt now and start the stabilizer dissolving in a sock in front of a return - as long as you are 100% sure they will be out tomorrow.
Brush the salt until dissolved and leave the pump running to help mix it into the water uniformly - recommended mix time it 24 hours or more.
Don't forget to add liquid chlorine and maintain the FC at the level indicated for your new CYA level. If you dose for a higher CYA, just add the chlorine as if the stabilizer were already dissolved.

Yes sir . I have a 1766 kit and it read 1000 ppm of salt. Probably due to me using liquid chlorine. I just purchased some Diamond Splash ready salt from home depot . It was on sale . As far as the conditioner yes cya . I’m a 30 ppm now and going to boost to 70 or 80 ppm
