I'm in the process of having a semi-inground pool built and I'm looking into automating/syncing my heat pump and pool pump. I'd like to be able to control them from my phone if possible.

Heat Pump: Aqucal Superquiet 166
Pool Pump: Black & Decker 2hp Variable Speed Pump

I found a keypad for the pool pump that, "includes the capability for relay-triggered control to allow virtually any automation system to control the pump including the Hayward Goldline Pro Logic, Pentair Easytouch, Jandy Aqualink, and Intermatic systems."

For the Heat pump I see that it can be controlled with an external SMART controller (to use both heating and cooling functions)

I have a fairly simple set up so I am trying to find an elegant solution that won't break the bank. Any suggestions?

Sorry you haven't gotten an answer, maybe a bump will help...

Thanks for the bump...

I ended up returning the Black and Decker VS pump. I went with a Jandy 1.65 hp flopro VS pump since the B&D pump didn't have the RS-485 interface for automation. With the Jandy it should be more plug and play with Aquacal's Poolsync controller (after looking through the manuals and calling Aquacal tech support).

The black and decker pump automation adapter works with relays. Think there are some other posts about it. Didn't want to deal with that.
