Autofill water dirty

Hi guys!
how do I clean out the autofill? The water in it is green and murky. Should siphon out the water and clean it up with bleach? Should I put water back in there?

I would pour a cup of liquid bleach in and use a soapy kitchen sponge and clean it out.. rinse with hose water.. Dump another cup of bleach in after your done to kill anything left

Do you think the bleach will do any harm to the autofill parts? Does this water go to the pool?
