Auto-Fill Valve Hammer

Well, after living in my new place for about a year I have finally isolated those occasional knocking noises to the auto-fill valve at the pool.

I thought I would install a hammer arrestor just like you would with a toilet but the arrestor body is too long for the housing that the valve sits in.

That said, I am looking for suggestions. My current valve is a fluid master design- I wonder if a korky or some other model would solve the problem?

Thanks!

Just to close the thread and give the solution that worked for me in case anyone else lands here- I purchased one of the 2X long life korky valves as I read that the design is slower closing. So far this has solved our water hammer problems, I'll report back if anything changes.
