My display board won’t turn on when it is powered up unless I physically remove it from the main board and then reseat it. It then stays active until the pool timer shuts the system off. When it starts up again, I have to reseat the board to reactivate the display. When the display is idle is the system still working?

No, if the display board isn’t working, the SWG isn’t either. Try removing the display board, very carefully cleaning the prongs with very fine sandpaper, then spraying the contacts on the board itself with electronic contact spray, reseat it and see if that does the trick. That worked for mine.
