Aquacal Heater with Hayward Controller

Hi,
I just had my pool guy replace my old non working Aqua Cal heater with a brand new Aqua Cal heater. It has a dial on the control panel to adjust the heat. My other one had a row of buttons along with a small screen telling you the temp, etc. This was hooked up to a Hayward pro-logic controller salt pool thing.
My old heater could be run using an app on my phone. If I wanted to run the spa, I would press the spa button, the pool would turn off and the actuators (I think that is what they are called) would slowly turn 180 degrees and then the pool would come on along with the heater. If I wanted to turn on the heater I would just press the button on the app and the heater would come on.
In other words, the heater was controlled with the app or with the "hockey puck" thing that came with the Hayward Pro-logic controller.
My pool guy says he has connected the heater up just like the old one was. BUT I am unable to get the heater to be controlled by the phone app or the hockey puck thing.
Is there something that he/we are missing? Is there some other way it is to be hooked up?

Thanks in advance.....

What model number Aquacal HP are we discussing?

We need to know how your Pool Guy connected the Aquacal HP to your ProLogic system.

Show us pics of the wiring connections.

Contact Aquacal and ask them how to use the remote connection.

They can email a diagram to you and your service person.

Before calling, fill out the online registration paperwork so that they can have your information available to help you.

Most heaters have several different ways that a remote control can operate the heater.

Did the installer leave you the manual and the paperwork like the warranty forms?

AquaCal Technical Support (800-786-7751).

Connecting External Controllers: See document entitled “Connecting External Controllers to AquaCal Heat Pumps”.

These instructions are shipped inside heater accompanying the electrical schematic

Tell the service person to contact Aquacal to figure it out.

That's their job.

First off, thanks for all the help.
James W: That link you sent for the PDF is not working.

I emailed tech support and this is their response to me:

Good Afternoon,

Hope you are doing well.

It is possible that he did not place a jumper in the right place on the computer board to let the heater respond to your automation system.

This link will show you how it should be wired & where to place the jumper for the heater to run.

2-WIRE Controllers (Pool-Spa)

Please feel free to call us in tech support at 727-428-2727 with any questions.

Thanks
