Aquacal heat pump cooler questions

They could not test the compressor last time because it was too hot. They came Monday and did some testing and said bad TXV but the compression was ok. Came back today installed a new TXV, and bent some of my condenser fins😡, and said all working. Well there was cold water coming out of the returns. Water temp was 90 F at 11:45 am when we started it.

The water temp is currently 91F at 9:20 pm, down from 94f this afternoon. That’s the same pattern I would get without the HP running. I set the temp target for 84F. The pool water always drops to 88-89F overnight. I bet tomorrow morning it will be the same. Clearly it not working.

Gonna push for a replacement but I think they are gonna do the “ just keep replacing parts game”.

I hope I am wrong, this thing was $8K with the upcharge from the pool builder. Not really pleased about this.

Well I forgot to update this thread as I have been dealing with the Hayward OmniLogic issues.

So it was the TXV, The chiller is working, and gets to water down to 84, well that’s a low as I set it for. We did get a different tech out here who was WAY more knowledgeable about these. He said after 108-110F the heat delta is just too great for these to cool any further. He suggests running from 9pm to 9 Am.

I was letting it go 24/7, it took two days to cool the pool as the pebble and shotcrete were hot in addition to the water. Once you get these cools you gotta run to every day or the water will just heat up again.

Sort of figured July/Aug to be heavy electric load months due to AC and the Heat Pump.

It is what it is, 84-87 is nice, 91-95 not so much!
