Aqua pure 1400 getting Error 170

Did these tests. https://images.inyopools.com/cloud/documents/jandy-aqua-pure-error-codes.pdf

Transformer and backboard voltages all check ok.

When I get to front board test it all goes bad.

Cell voltage should be 22-28. Getting 0.097v at board and at cell

K-h should be 120 mV. Getting .1

With sensor cable disconnected display now reads 30. Press hold Salinity and r temp and salinity on front get two dashes not 2.8 gpl

Press r temp and salinity and press D temp and get hh not 75 degrees

Press H temp and salinity and A and get hh not 91 degrees

So it says that if these test readings fail the front board is bad. I wanted to confirm with those in the know that I’m not missing something?

So next question is these are discontinued and there is a company selling repaired boards for $450 or send mine in and pay $200 for repair. Given this is 10 plus years old and the cell and sensor is 2 years old am I better off just buying a new unit? If so recommendations? I see some new systems down to $500.

You may want to try cleaning your sensor if that doesn’t work and you are positive the back board is good you could either buy the sensor or buy the kit.

I put together a system. The front board is no longer used. So if you went with the kit (comes with the sensor) you’d have a cell ready when your current one goes bad. I signed up and got a coupon for the place below they had the best price for the kit.

Thanks. I read those. My concern is with the sensor disconnected it didn’t pass front board tests. Board wasn’t sending 28v to sensor.

Is there a diagnostic I can do to test sensor?

I read though the pdf you linked to. Besides trying and cleaning the sensor I don’t believe there is another sensor test.

At this point of you did clean it and it still isn’t working if I was in this situation I’d buy the 1400 kit.

First you may want to call Jandy and confirm but the front board is no longer used with the new sensor. So if the board is bad problem solved and 2 more reasons to go with the kit. You’ll have a new cell ready to go when your current one fails and it save about 150 over buying just a sensor today and say a just the cell next year.

Sorry. I miss spoke. I had the rslink box and basically added all the parts to make it an aqua link box. As I did my research I found out Jandy replaced the two board with this one (R0467600)

So you could do a few things. If you believe the back board is bad buy the board above and the salt sensor (R0452500).
Or just buy the salt sensor first and try it and the if it doesn’t work buy the top board.

I had good luck finding these parts on amazon and eBay.

I would give Jandy a call. They helped me confirm the part numbers I needed to get my swg up and running.

Heres the install instructions for just the sensor.
