We are closing our pool. Before we started the slam process we dropped our ph to 7.4 since we had to add 2 gallons of liquid chlorine. I completed the SLAM process and have tested all my levels except ph because the chlorine is higher than 10ppm. Is there a way to test it with a diluted sample or should we just finish closing it and worry about that in the spring. Typically adding that much chlorine makes my ph jump back up to 8.

Second question. Where should my chlorine be when we drain the pool below the skimmer and return? Normal level or close to slam level?

You need to have a calibrated pH meter to test pH at that FC level.

Closing a pool at SLAM level is fine.

Just close your pool.
